Nioh 2, a sequel to Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja’s 2016 historical action RPG Nioh, put in a brief appearance at Sony’s E3 presentation, though little was revealed other than game’s existence. Following the presentation, however, three developers sat down with Sony’s Ryan Clements to discuss and provide some details about the title.
Nioh 2 is being developed as an evolution over the first title, which was released for on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2017 and follows William Adams as he fights his way through a demon-infested Edo-era Japan. The developer did not reveal any story details, though stated that it is connected to the first game in some way, and that the game will have some form of character customisation, including letting players choose their gender. Yo-kai will play a key role in the game, both in terms of story and combat elements. Neither a release date nor platform outside of the PlayStation 4 have been announced.
