Whenever “auction house” comes to mind, I generally think of a list of crafted items marked up to obscene prices because somehow the universe knows that I want something to use for the purpose of dressing up my in-game avatar. The Black Desert Online Imperial Auction House, however, is a bit different.
Imperial Auction Houses will be popping up in all six of the major cities across the world. These new locations are promising to offer “rare, never-before-seen items” on a randomly rotating basis to the single adventurer who puts in the highest bid during a period of 10 days. Auction Houses can be accessed from any server and everyone will be bidding on the same item.
Here’s how it works: once a new item is up for bidding at the Auction House, a system message will go out and Auction House Managers will begin accepting bids. Players can see the current highest bid and put in their own to try and win the item. If someone happens to put in a higher bid a minute before bidding ends, the bidding window will remain open for an additional minute and will keep extending if higher bids keep getting placed.
If you win the item, the money put forth will be consumed and the item can be collected from the “My Bid List” section of the Auction House UI. If you lose, then you can collect the money you put up from the same tab.
Our Thoughts
Well! This is either going to be an exciting sort of thing for Black Desert Online players, or it’s going to be a bloodbath that will raise all the hackles and cause nothing but misery. We’re curious to learn what players of BDO think of this new Imperial Auction House.
