A couple of days back, Kakao Games held a media conference to provide full details of the upcoming South Korea service of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. As publisher, Kakao Games announced the official launch to start on 14 November, with country-wide partnerships through the Daum Game Premium PC Bang (gaming internet cafes) program. There are over 12,000 PC bangs under the program, which will definitely give maximum exposure. For the first 2 months, the game can be played for free at all PC bangs as well!
The selling price for a copy of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is 32,000 Korean Won (around 28.00 USD). As reported previously, the game can only be played by those who are at least 15 years of age. Kakao Games and PUBG Corporation are working on a new version which will allow even younger gamers to play, and it is currently under review for a launch in the first quarter of 2018. This is seen as critical in cutting down League of Legends’ market domination for the past 40 weeks in PC bang ranking. Ambitious indeed!
