Bigpoint reveals Futuristic Military MOBA game "Merc Elite"

Bigpoint is unveiling its Unity3D game Merc Elite at Gamescom in Germany. The Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, developed over the course of 20 months by an over 40-person team of experienced game developers and designers, underscores Bigpoint's commitment to unique quality and innovation. The online game is the second title produced by the team, which came to Bigpoint through an acquisition.

"Our strategy of acquiring the entire studio as a team and allowing them to focus on developing high quality titles is now once again paying dividends," explains Khaled Helioui, Managing Director at Bigpoint. "Just like with the former Radon Labs team that created Drakensang Online, a game that matches up unabashedly to the quality and visuals of console games, Merc Elite is going to win converts through its excellent graphics and gripping gameplay."

Merc Elite is the first MOBA game to take place in a futuristic military setting. It combines elaborate player-versus-player battles with 3D graphics. Gamers can decide between different character classes, including a refined weapons system for battles in the arena. Players will need more than just a daft hand with the weapons, though. Tactical skill, team play and strategy are also crucial factors for success. Merc Elite will go into open beta in the summer of 2013.
